Get Cloud Glow Skin in 5 Simple Steps

Naturally radiant makeup tips ahead.

Remember when the cloud skin trend rolled in as glass skin’s soft-focus sister? Well, we’re taking the ultra-natural, luminous look to the next level with our brand-new Cloud Glow Priming Foam.

The latest addition to the lineup is our best brightening primer, perfect for anyone who still wants that hydration and luminosity without a dewy or shimmery finish. It helps make dull complexions appear fresher than ever, even subtly lit from within. Plus, your makeup won’t drift or crease for up to 12 hours when you prep your skin with the featherlight foam. We like to call it the Cloud Glow look.
“Anyone who prefers a minimal makeup look, those who love using a skin tint, or anyone who wants their skin to look healthier and naturally radiant” will love Cloud Glow makeup, says Ari Adams, Milk Makeup’s Global Education and Events Manager.

Below, our experts share exactly how to achieve the Cloud Glow look in five easy-breezy steps.

The Ultimate Cloud Glow Makeup Routine

1. Prime Your Canvas

Cloud Glow Priming Foam excels when it’s the first step of your makeup routine. After you do your skincare routine, spread one pump of the primer all over your face—a little goes a long way, Ari says. Cloud Glow’s turmeric and saffron extracts will help decrease redness and dullness in the process. Then, allow the primer to dry down for 60 seconds before applying the rest of your makeup, he adds.

2. Dab on Sheer Concealer

Complexion products that have a second-skin finish, such as Future Fluid Concealer, pair best with Cloud Glow Priming Foam. You want your skin’s natural, Cloud Glow-enhanced radiance to be able to shine through your base and not be obstructed by thicker, more matte concealers and foundations. You can also skip this step and wear Cloud Glow Priming Foam on its own for a no-makeup glow, says Milk Makeup’s Director of Artistry Sara Wren.

3. Swipe on Watercolor Blush

Once again, sheer formulas are key to the Cloud Glow look, so reach for a blush with a transparent, watercolor-like finish, like our fan-favorite Cooling Water Jelly Tint. “It blends seamlessly into the skin and appears more natural, in the application, than traditional blush looks,” Ari says. Just be sure to start sheer and build, he adds.

Try diffusing Cooling Water Jelly Tint onto your cheeks with a fluffy brush. Do so by sweeping the bristles across the top of the stick to evenly coat them. Then, swirl the pigment-covered brush onto one of your cheeks. Repeat the process for your other cheek for best results. You can also add some to your lips for a popsicle-like stain.

4. Add Some Warmth

We love pairing Cloud Glow with a creamy, shimmer-free bronzer, particularly Matte Bronzer. This step will give your skin that subtle, stunning warmth that hits your skin on an overcast day. The most natural way to get that bronzed, look without any harsh lines is to take the stick and swipe it down the tops of your cheeks and upward toward your nose in a W shape, Sara says. Then, add some bronzer along your jawline and hairline before buffing everything out. “The formula is super creamy, so it blends out like a dream,” she adds.

5. Lift Your Lashes

No other eye makeup is needed when your lashes are as high as the sky, and our RISE Mascara is the perfect product for achieving just that. Complete your Cloud Glow look with a couple swipes to give lashes a natural-looking lift and some extra length without any clumping. Then, your skin will be shining bright, no matter what the weather forecast may be.
