What Clean Beauty Means to Milk Makeup

Since we first launched Milk Makeup, we’ve worked hard to create clean beauty products with good ingredients that deliver epic payoff. A big part of that is making sure that all our products are vegan, cruelty-free, and formulated with care. We believe there shouldn’t be a tradeoff between sticking to these commitments and creating innovative new launches for you to meet and love. We’ll continue to hold ourselves to these standards, and we also want to be transparent with you as we do so.

At Milk Makeup, we’ve always used the word “clean” to describe how we formulate, but we know that the definition of that term is not finite. Here’s exactly what clean means to us, and the five things you can always count on to be true when you choose Milk Makeup:

WE’RE LEAPING BUNNY CERTIFIED, CRUELTY-FREE, AND 100% VEGAN

Our products are all Leaping Bunny certified, which means we don’t test on animals at any stage in our supply chain. We also create 100% vegan formulations, so none of our ingredients are derived from animals.

WE WILL NEVER USE THESE 2,500+ CONTROVERSIAL INGREDIENTS

Milk Makeup products will never contain over 2,500 controversial and potentially harmful or irritating ingredients, including: Parabens, sulfates, BHA, BPA, plastic microbeads, talc, urea, retinyl palmitate, mercury or mercury-containing ingredients, resorcinol, formaldehyde, aluminum salts, and mineral oil.

WE’RE WORKING TOWARDS NEW FORMULAS BEING OVER 80% NATURAL

We follow ISO 16128 guidelines, where natural means plant, mineral, and/or microbiologically derived ingredients. We want to bring you products that are as natural as possible, while also not compromising on payoff and performance. We’ll carefully select synthetic alternatives where necessary to bring you that balance.

WE SOURCE INGREDIENTS FOR OUR PRODUCTS ETHICALLY AND RESPONSIBLY

We commit to ethical and responsible sourcing for our formulas from start to finish. For any products containing mica or palm-derived ingredients, we only use ethically-sourced and sustainable mica and sustainability certified palm-derived ingredients. We also work with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) compliant factories.

WE’RE CERTIFIED CLEAN AT SEPHORA
