The Best Fall Makeup Looks to Try Now

All the inspo you'll need this season.

When cool breezes hint at lower temperatures and shedding trees turn streets orange and maroon, we know it's time to start thinking about fall makeup looks. OK, let’s be real—we started thinking about it the minute the clock struck midnight on Labor Day.

Can you blame us? The season of boots, sweaters, and spiced sweet treats calls for celebration, and while we enjoyed the warmth of summer, we’re ready to switch out our wardrobes and update our makeup routines to fit the season.

We’re all about the rich, warm, moody colors the fall season brings to mind, but we’re also firm believers that fall makeup doesn’t have to have all the stereotypical hallmarks of the season. After all, we’re about living your look, and that means rocking whatever you think fits the vibe—be it a pastel green graphic liner in the middle of October or a brick red shadow for friendsgiving in November.

Luckily, you don't have to spend hours scrolling through Pinterest to find inspiration. We’ve got it all right here. Read on to see all the makeup looks we can’t wait to copy this fall.

Additional reporting by Ella Torres.

Glossed + Glowing

It’s fall, but that doesn’t mean you have to give up on your summer glow. You can definitely give it an update though, as @maryestheran (she/her) has done here. Her skin has a lit-from-within quality. It’s a soft-focus, candlelight type of glow as opposed to the bang-in-your-face radiance the summer months call for.

She started this look by priming her face with Hydro Grip Primer, which adds an extra layer of hydration and ensures her makeup lasts the whole day. She reached for Lip + Cheek in Quirk to add some color to her face.

Mary kept her eyes simple by sticking with a wash of a neutral, cool-toned brown over her lids. If you love the look and want a more shimmery finish, Color Chalk in Double Dutch is a good option.

The look is finished with lip liner and generous coats of gloss. To get a similar look, line your lips with Infinity Long Wear Eyeliner in Limitless, then go over top with Odyssey Lip Oil Gloss in Explore, a semi-sheer caramel coral hue. It will give you that super glossy effect while keeping your lips hydrated—no lip balm needed.

Icy Sea Foam

You don’t have to wait ‘til winter to bring the frost. Here, @lanayanette (they/she) accents their graphic liner with an iridescent seafoam blue that’s totally arresting.

They started with our fan-favorite Hydro Grip Primer, which, by the way, is a great choice for keeping skin hydrated in cool weather as the air gets drier. Their base was kept relatively clean so the eye makeup could really shine—Lana did a soft contour, courtesy of our Sculpt Stick in Simmer, and applied a deep rosy blush to bring some color to their cheeks.

Now for the eyes. Lana’s graphic cat-eye liner is extra pointed at the inner corners, where they added a smoky triangle with a combination of black (sub in Infinity in Outer Space) and dark gray liners.

On the inner third of their upper lash line, they added that frosty blue hue and lent more visual interest to the look with ombré lines just underneath the brow bone on the outer third part of their eye area. After accenting the rest of the eyes with a few well-placed gray and black dots, they lined their lips with a brown liner and filled them in with a peachy hue. To get a similar look, line with Infinity in Limitless, then fill in with Lip + Cheek in Perk.

Once their whole face was done, they locked in their look with Hydro Grip Set + Refresh Spray, which added an extra layer of hydration.

Pink Racecar Realness

If we had a racecar, we’d want it in the same colors and cool design @axchristine(she/her) created here. The pink hue is smoked out in the outer corners with a rich purple for some intensity. She painted a hot rod-esque design on the other third of her lids, flourishing them with three tiny pearls.

Of course, such bold eye makeup calls for a more neutral base, which she finessed with touches of blush and bronzer. Her brows are kept neat and sculpted with a one-two combo of our KUSH Fiber Brow Gel in Diesel and KUSH Brow Lamination Gel, which gives the hairs that brushed-up look.

Pretty Pumpkin Spice

There is something about the drop in temperature that makes reaching for your warmest tones so tempting. Whether you’re mimicking the changing leaves or feeling the vibe of your favorite bevvy, warm your complexion up with oranges, roses, and browns.

Caitlin (she/her), our Senior Manager, Social Media Strategy, evened her base out with Future Fluid All Over Cream Concealer before warming her skin up with a combination of Matte Bronzer in Dazed and Lip + Cheek in Werk on her cheeks, up toward the temples, and around the hairline. Her eyes got a dusting of gold all over the lid with Color Chalk in Kickball, blended up above the crease, before defining her lash line and adding a feline flick with Infinity Eyeliner in Outer Space.

Caitlin set the look in place with Pore Eclipse Matte Translucent Setting Powder and Pore Eclipse Matte Setting Spray before adding the final touch—a layer of high-shine, hydrating lip gloss in a dusty rose shade with Odyssey Lip Oil Gloss in Werk Trip.

Smoky Metallic Blue Shadow

We’ll take Britney Spears-inspired looks in any season, and that includes this metallic blue smoky eye. @stephs_monolids (she/her) used a similar look from the artist as a reference to create this updated version. First, she prepped her base with Pore Eclipse Mattifying Primer to help her skin retain a soft-focus finish through it all.

For the eyes, Sephanie blended out a matte black shadow across her lids, pulling the color way out and up, just past the ends of her brows in a cat-eye shape. Then, she applied a shimmery purple at the center of her lids and accented her inner corners and the middle third of her lower lash line with a frosted metallic blue. She completed the look with a frosty pearl lip gloss, but you can also use Odyssey Lip Oil Gloss in Globetrot to get a similar look, only with more of a frosty blue hue. Once the lips were on, she sealed the whole look in with Pore Eclipse Matte Setting Spray to give her skin a soft matte finish.

Neutral Soft Glam

@judyhussamiii’s (she/her) smoky cut crease shadow is proof that neutrals don’t need to be boring. The warm brown tones combine beautifully with the gray smoky shadows buffed into shapes that look like swirls of actual smoke—gorgeous.

A neutral matte base makeup enlivened by a flush of Lip + Cheek in Werk served as the perfect anchor for this look. The overall beat is decidedly matte (save for a little shimmer at the center of her lids), so lip gloss was a welcome addition here. Try a similar hue with our Odyssey Lip Oil gloss in Werk Trip.

Spooky Smoky Eye

@alexandraclare (she/her) looks like a bonafide princess of darkness with this spooky smoky eye look. It’s heavy on the black liner (try this with our Infinity Eyeliner in Outer Space) and shadow, especially on the lower lash line, and smokes out into brown at her under eyes. She kept the lids a lighter peachy hue, a brilliant contrast to the moody lower half of the look. Feathery lashes add even more intensity to the overall effect.

We love how the rest of her face is kept relatively paler in comparison to all that shadow. There’s a little Matte Bronzer in Baked blended out on the high points of her face, punctuated by a soft pink blush that looks similar to our Lip + Cheek in Dash.

Glossy Orange Lips

Why not match your lipstick to the fall foliage? Take cues from, @amma.agyei (she/her), who lines her lips with a deep brown liner first before adding in the orange color. You can get a similar look with our Infinity liner in Limitless, of course. Our Lip + Cheek in Swerve is perfect to sub in here for an orange lip color, which you can top off with Odyssey Lip Oil Gloss in Journey (clear) or Explore (coral). Amma kept her base glowy, neutral, and contoured with our Sculpt stick in Sizzle.

Double Wing

Going bold for fall is the best after a summer of high temps that can make you sweat your face off. Get creative with an eye-catching shadow look like our Community Manager Blossom (they/them) did here.

First, they focused on the eyes, creating two wings with a black shadow, keeping it soft and blended by using Color Chalk in Skateboard in the crease of the eye and along the upper and lower lash lines. Add some silver shadow (Color Chalk in Freeze) into the inner corners for an icy highlight and a few coats of RISE Waterproof Mascara.

To balance out the dark eye, Blossom brightened their complexion with Bionic Blush in Infinity, mixing it with Pore Eclipse Mattifying Primer to help it last all day long. Then, they added Highlighter in Turnt on top for an added glow. They filled their brows in with KUSH Brow Shadow Stick, set the look with Pore Eclipse Matte Translucent Setting Powder and Hydro Grip Set + Refresh Spray, then added a coat of Odyssey Lip Oil Gloss in Trek.

Futuristic Cut Crease

There are a few different finishes going on with this look by @tashjanecollins (she/her), and they all somehow come together cohesively. First, there are those slick brows that look almost as if they have been shaped into place with edge control. The closest you can come to that (without actually using edge gel on your brows) is with our KUSH Brow Lamination Gel, which will give your hairs that brushed-up look.

Then there’s the smoky cut-crease and its melange of shimmer + matte shadows, plus the pearly appliqés. Her cheeks are flushed with a matte red hue, with highlighter dusted at the very tops of her cheekbones. If you want a similar red color with a creamier finish, Lip + Cheek in Flip is your best bet.

As for her base—well, that looks like an IRL filter. She got the effect with the help of our Pore Eclipse Mattifying Primer, which kept everything in place with a soft-focus finish. To make your base really matte, use a setting powder like our Pore Eclipse Matte Translucent Setting Powder. It keeps your makeup locked up to 16 hours and contains oil-controlling lentil extract and pore-blurring microspheres to give your skin that filtered finish.

Emerald Eyes

Channel your inner green monster this season. We love to feature a splash of color on the eyes while keeping the rest of the makeup super minimal like our Editorial Intern Chloe (they/she) did here.

They added some dimension to their complexion by just blending a touch of coral cream blush into the apples of their cheeks with Lip + Cheek in Perk. Then, Chloe applied a bright green shadow (Color Chalk in Green Light) on the outer half of their upper lash line and the entire lower lash line, leaving the rest of the lid bare to help it really stand out. Defining the brows with KUSH Fiber Brow Gel and adding a few layers of RISE Mascara completed the look.

Golden Hour Makeup

We want every hour to feel like the Golden Hour, and @jasadetunji (she/her) captures it beautifully with this look. She started her routine with a moisturized base, first slathering on our Vegan Milk Moisturizer, letting that sink in, then going over it with Hydro Grip Primer for extra hydration and something for her makeup to latch onto. For complexion, Jasmine used Sunshine Skin Tint for light coverage and then used concealer in the areas where she needed something more substantial.

Jasmine added touches of glimmering copper to her inner corners by gently buffing Color Chalk in “Jump” onto them, achieving a honeyed, warm highlight. She then applied Lip + Cheek in Quickie to her cheekbones to give herself a plummy flush before finishing the look with an Electric Glossy Lip Plumper in Buzzed, a warm beige hue.

Vampire Lips

It’s officially spooky season—but a sultry, vampire-inspired lip isn’t reserved for just October 31. Rock it all fall long as your face’s main focal point, keeping the rest of your look low-key or completely bare.

Zoey (she/her), our Social Community Lead, flipped the script by using the Infinity Eyeliner in Limitless as lip liner. She lined her entire top and bottom lips and blended the color into the outer corners to create an ombré effect. Then, she added contrast to the dark brown tone with a bright cherry red, swiping on Lip + Cheek in Flip. She topped the look off with Odyssey Lip Oil Gloss in Trek to help it blend seamlessly.

Graphic Liner + Neutral Smoke

Amp up a classic smoky eye with some graphic colored liner, as @dezlissmakeup (they/them) did. They started their eyes by blending a matte orange eyeshadow to their lids and a dark gray shadow in the crease. They then used a pastel blue eyeliner to draw a reverse wing at the lower lash line, and then another flourish on the outer third of their lids, just below the brow bone. You can recreate a look like this with any color, but if you want to try it with a darker, shimmery blue, Infinity Eyeliner in Time is a great choice. A few coats of KUSH Mascara completed the eyes.

You can get a smooth, matte base similar to theirs when you start your routine with Pore Eclipse Mattifying Primer and end with Pore Eclipse Matte Setting Spray. Bonus points for setting your makeup with the Pore Eclipse powder. But before finishing their look with power or spray, Dez created that sharp contour with Sculpt Stick, adding instant depth and dimension to their cheekbones and nose.

Cherry Lips And Eyes

Cherry hues are trending all over social media and this look from Lana (they/she) embraces them fully with matching red lips and eyes. They evened out their base with Future Fluid All Over Cream Concealer in 21W and 20O, covering dark under eye circles and highlighting their nose, brow bone, and chin. They added a rich burgundy blush to their cheeks (similar in hue to our Lip + Cheek in Muse), before highlighting the high points of their face.

For the eyes, Lana used a combination of red cream and powder eyeshadows, creating a graphic cat-eye effect. They topped it off with bold red lipstick that matched the eyes to a T.

So Sunkissed

Trust us, freckles and bold blush aren’t just for summertime. You can recreate the look with a few key products that will transport you back to vacation mode, no matter the weather.

Taylor (they/she), our Designer, blended Bionic Blush in Fly onto their cheekbones for that fun-in-the-sun effect and layered faux freckles on top using Infinity Eyeliner in Limitless to create little dots across their cheeks and nose. They paired the bold cheek combo with another eye-catching duo: Infinity Eyeliner in Outer Space across the upper lash lines and KUSH Fiber Brow Gel in Diesel on the brows. They added a coat of RISE Waterproof Mascara and locked it all on with Hydro Grip Set + Refresh Spray before swiping on a layer of Odyssey Lip Oil Gloss in Voyage.

Strawberry Frosting

Pretty pink and glowy skin make a perfect pair—especially when there’s a monochromatic moment going on. We love Zoey’s take on an all-rosy toned look.

She warmed her skin up with Matte Bronzer in Baked, and mixed rosy beige and deep burgundy together to create a gorgeous custom blush with Lip + Cheek in Enigma and Muse. Next, she added a metallic pink shadow (Color Chalk in Dodge Ball) all over the lid and above the crease. The sweet pink shade got an upgrade with a feline flick using Infinity Eyeliner in Limitless along the upper lash line. Zoey tied the entire look together by adding a few coats of mascara to the lashes and brushed up the brows with KUSH Brow Lamination Gel.
