The options are endless.

Fans of our makeup sticks like Lip + Cheek already know that they’re super convenient and easy to use. Then there’s Cooling Water Jelly Tint, our newest blush and lip stain that offers a totally different experience. So how do you use them together?

“Multi-sticks like these are used for creating and building color on lips and cheeks,” explains Milk Makeup Director of Artistry Sara Wren. “Not only are the formulas designed to be easily used on the go, but they’re great for makeup artists like me who like to mix, match and create lip and cheek combinations and tones.”

With options including the multipurpose Jelly Tint and Lip + Cheek, as well as our Matte Bronzer, Highlighter, and Sculpt Stick, there are options for every use—and skin tone. “There is such a beautiful range of shades that you can wear them alone, mix them, or layer them together for your perfect shade,” says Sara, who recommends using our Blending Brush “for maximum payoff and control.”

Ahead, find out more about Cooling Water Jelly Tint, and how to use them with our cream sticks.

What is Cooling Water Jelly Tint?

You’ve probably seen the viral TikToks and videos, but here’s a refresher: Cooling Water Jelly Tint is a jelly blush and lip stain available in six different shades that gives you a sheer, buildable burst of color that lasts all day long. Thanks to the fun, bouncy texture—formulated with vegan collagen, aloe, and seawater—it’s also hydrating and refreshing on the skin, too. Oh, and we can read your mind: No, you can’t eat it. It’s for LOOKS not LICKS.

How can you use Cooling Water Jelly Tint?

Now that you know what it is, the next step is how to use Jelly Tint. It lends a sheer wash of color, whether you’re using it as a blush or lip stain. “Cooling Water Jelly Tint is a more matte, long-wearing stain,” says Sara. “So I tend to use it for a base or when I am underpainting my clients' complexion.” (Need a refresher on underpainting? We’ve got you.)

How do you apply lipstick stain, you ask? All you need to do is gently swipe it over your lips, like you would a lip balm or stick. Let it dry for a few seconds (it happens fast!) before you blot your lips together.

What are Milk Makeup's makeup sticks?

Our makeup stick fam features must-have products for every step of your makeup routine, all designed to be easy to use at home and on the go. Here’s the lineup:

Lip + Cheek: This two-in-one cream stick is for both, yes, lips and cheeks. It’s made with nourishing ingredients like mango butter, avocado oil, and apricot oil for a super-blendable, buildable formula that can go from natural to bold.

Matte Bronzer: Our cream bronzer stick comes in five shades to suit a wide range of skin tones, and leaves you looking warm and sunkissed (but not shimmery).

Sculpt Stick: A cool-toned cream contour stick in four shades that mimics the natural shadows of your face, Sculpt Stick is the easiest way to contour, ever.

Highlighter: Our cream highlighter sticks impart a shimmery, radiant glow as it hydrates skin.

Pore Eclipse Non-Comedogenic Matte Blur Stick: Bonus! This mattifying primer stick from our Pore Eclipse fam helps blur pores and control shine—plus, it locks on makeup for up to 16 hours with a soft-focus matte finish.

How can you use our makeup sticks?

All of our makeup sticks are versatile and multipurpose. (Try using the Highlighter on the collarbones, shoulders, and legs for an allover sheen!). Pore Eclipse Matte Blur Stick is also a two in one: To prime before makeup, glide it onto clean skin after skincare to blur pores and create a smooth base for makeup. Blend with fingers before applying the rest of your makeup. Or, use it for touch-ups by swiping your fingers over the top of the stick, then pressing directly over shiny areas.

Lip + Cheek, as you might expect, is great as a lip color and cream blush. Like Cooling Water Jelly Tint, it’s sheer and buildable—but the shades are creamy and dewy rather than matte. “I love to use Lip + Cheek when I am creating sheer washes of dewy color,” explains Sara.

How do you use Cooling Water Jelly Tint with our makeup sticks?

Once you know how to apply Jelly Tint, it’s easy to use along with our other makeup sticks. But you can also incorporate Lip + Cheek into your look as well, whether you wear Jelly Tint on your cheeks, and Lip + Cheek on your lips or vice versa. That said, Sara actually loves to layer the products together for even more color payoff.

“Cooling Water Jelly Tint essentially creates a base—a long-wearing stain that will last even with your lip or cheek colors fade,” says the pro, adding that a common complaint with cream blushes is that they can fade throughout the day. Layering the products helps avoid that issue. “Using Cooling Water Jelly Tint under Lip + Cheek on both your lips and cheeks is the best way to get a unique and long lasting finish,” she says.

Those are just some of the ways to use our makeup sticks and Cooling Water Jelly Tint together! We love seeing how creative you can be, so show us how you live your look by tagging us @milkmakeup on Instagram and TikTok.
