When she’s not helping run things over here, Milk Makeup co-founder Zanna Roberts Rassi can be found on the red carpet talking to some of the biggest stars or appearing on talk shows to discuss the latest beauty trends. Needless to say, she’s got a super busy schedule. So she knows more than anyone the benefits of having a quick and easy makeup routine that works both on and off camera.

Zanna recently shared her go-to red carpet face with SEPHORiA: Virtual House of Beauty. Read on to find out how she gets her signature look–plus a few extra tips–with some of our award-winning makeup products here.

1. Prep + Prime

Zanna knows the importance of starting with clean and moisturized skin. “After I’ve washed my face, I use the Vegan Milk Moisturizer. I apply it on damp, warm skin for maximum penetration,” she says. “The formula is rich but not greasy, so your skin really drinks it in.”

Since she knows she’s gonna be on camera and under harsh TV lighting, she opts out of a dewy look. “You already know about our award-winning Hydro Grip Primer, which over 12 million people on TikTok are raving about,” Zanna says. “But for tonight, I’m going to use our brand-new mattifying primer, Pore Eclipse, since I’m going to be under all the bright lights on the carpet, and we know how that goes–those HDTV cameras are not kind. They see everything.”

Zanna loves how the smooth water-cream formula blurs pores and controls shine–“basically a real-life filter on your skin,” she says. “No flashback or shine on the carpet! And, of course, it keeps your makeup locked from 7 am to 7 pm at night. Yes I wear it that long, sometimes longer!”

2. Conceal + Sculpt

After the skin is moisturized and primed, she moves on to complexion. For this, Zanna reaches for our new Future Fluid All Over Cream Concealer.” Future Fluid is a medium-to-full coverage creamy concealer that covers, sculpts, and hydrates for a weightless, crease-proof, second-skin finish. “It keeps my skin looking fresh even when I’m feeling kinda tired,” she says. “And it’s weightless so it doesn’t feel like anything on your skin.”

Zanna appreciates the benefits of the formula, which is made with tons of skin-loving ingredients like hyaluronic acid and aloe vera, so it helps improve skin concerns the more you wear it. She likes to do a soft-sculpt for a lifting effect that’s “instantly snatched.”

3. Bronze + Blush + Glow

To add color and dimension to her face, Zanna relies on products from the award-winning Bionic Fam. It’s our range of liquid makeup–bronzer, blush, and highlighter–made with skincare ingredients for a supernatural glow. Skincare with superpowers, you know the deal.

She starts with our Bionic Bronzer, which just won a 2022 Allure Best of Beauty award. “First up, I apply some Bionic Bronzer where the light hits my face most–so cheekbones, nose, forehead, and jaw,” Zanna explains. “It’s super creamy and easy to blend with your fingers or a sponge.” Next up is a little Bionic Blush, our award-winning liquid blush that can be sheered out or built up for some color. Zanna squeezes a bit out on the back of her hand, then applies the color to her cheeks with her fingers. She tops it off with some Bionic Glow, our liquid illuminator for “the perfect amount of shimmer without being too shiny,” Ideal for when you’re on camera.

Zanna’s tip: “You can wear it all over your body for an all-over natural glow or even mix it with your moisturizer.”

4. Brows + Eyes

Zanna’s admitted she was an over-plucker in the ‘90s, so for her brows, the KUSH Fiber Brow Gel is perfect to create that fuller look she wants. “On camera, I’ll use a shade darker than my natural brow,” she says.  “I brush upwards, then in every direction, so I can coat every hair possible because Lord knows we need to. Then, I guide them into place for that extra full and fluffy look.”

After years in the beauty game, Zanna’s mastered the smoky eye. “My go-to red carpet eye is always a smoky one,” she says. “Now, I’ve gotten it down to a quick and simple process.”

She starts with our new Infinity Long Wear Eyeliner. It’s a creamy, waterproof eyeliner that glides on smooth and stays put for up to 12 hours for a long-lasting smoky eye. “I chose brown (Limitless) today because I want something more natural. It’s a great color and much more forgiving on me.

She then adds a coat of award-winning KUSH Mascara for extra bold and dramatic lashes that’ll definitely pop on camera. “The great thing about this mascara is that it's super buildable,” she says. “You can add extra layers for more drama and volume, but it won't get dry or stiff.”

5. Lips

Zanna completes her red carpet look with a simple lip color and touch of gloss. “Just a swipe of Lip + Cheek for a quick pop of color, then I top it off with Electric Glossy Lip Plumper. It makes my lips plump and smooth for the red carpet.”

Who knew getting ready for the red carpet could be so easy? And just like that, Zanna proves that sometimes the best glam squad you can have is yourself...and some Milk Makeup, faves of course.
