At Milk Makeup, we believe it’s not just how you create your look; it’s what you do in it that matters. That’s what our motto Live Your Look is all about. It means forgetting the rules. Having the freedom to show up as you every day, whether that’s with graphic liner or a glossed lip. Being seen and celebrated for living your truth. And there's no better way for us to show what that looks like than passing the mic to our Milk Fam.

In this series, we're opening it up to our community to share their inspirations, self-expression, beauty routines, and so much more. Get to know the faces behind our campaigns who are as inspiring off camera as they are on.
This week, we're getting to know Lizzy, who starred in our summer beauty campaign. Find out a little bit more about the model, Leo, and business owner.

Lizzy stays in her own lane. Our Bronzer model is down to try anything—rock climbing, weightlifting, boxing, and even starting a vintage resale business with her friend—but she never compares herself to those around her. “There’s no one else like you, so competition doesn’t really exist,” she says.

That advice has served her well as she navigates her own path. She started modeling by teaming up with her brother, who helped her out with her first photos. When she was officially signed in 2019, he became her momager. “He’s a momager—like a Kris Jenner,” she clarifies. “We love Kris Jenner.”

When she’s not modeling, Lizzy stays busy with JVEY, the aforementioned business she co-owns with her friend (the name comes from a combination of their initials). Together, they source a curated edit of vintage luxury fashion, with a plan to someday expand to luxury lifestyle offerings. “It’s nice to do modeling but also to have your little side hustle,” she says.

Whatever the future holds—for JVEY and for Lizzy—she’ll meet it head-on without worrying about anyone else. Read on to get to know her thoughts on personal style, the one Milk Makeup product she’ll use forever, and the advice she always keeps in mind.

How would you describe your personal style?

Today, I’m wearing a little bit of everything. It started off with a really cool, edgy outfit and switched into something nice and airy for summer. It pretty much showcases my personality; the first one was very rugged and boyish and the second one is a little more girly. It’s a nice contrast thing.

What’s your daily relationship with beauty?

SPF is super important. I don’t want no wrinkles! I used to hate wearing it because it would leave white residue. But it’s very important. I start with a good base if I want to do good makeup. I keep it super light: concealer, mascara, blush, and a nice lip.

If you could only use one Milk Makeup product for the rest of your life, what would it be?

KUSH Mascarais my favorite. I loveit. Big volume and it doesn't flake, which is amazing.

If you could have a plane ticket to anywhere, where would you go?

I haven’t been back to my country, Guyana, so that’s definitely number one on my list. I just need to see my roots and where my parents grew up. It’s very important to me.

What music are you currently listening to on repeat?

A lot of rap. Drake is my number-one artist on Spotify. I love Bad Bunny, too. Sorry, I’m basic. But I love Bad Bunny.

What’s your favorite hobby?

I’m in the gym: I like to weightlift, box, and I started rock climbing recently as a nice little mind escape. In New York, I go to Brooklyn Boulders. It’s indoors, so super safe and super fun. I actually got into it really randomly. I probably sound like I’ve been doing it for a while, but I literally just started messing around with it. There’s this indoor amusement park called Area53, and they have rock climbing. I was just having fun one night with my friends, and then after that I was like, I like this, let’s stick to it.

Are there any projects you’re working on that you want to share with our Milk Fam?

Me and my friend have a little vintage resell business that we do on the side. It’s nice to do modeling but also to have your little side hustle. That’s been really fun. We want to expand to a more lifestyle layer, but right now it’s just clothing—luxury designer stuff. Everything is based in New York, but we’re starting to source outside of New York. We’re traveling a bit more to source better. It’s called JVEY: our initials mixed together.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given?

Be yourself. You’re one out of one and there’s no one else like you, so competition doesn’t really exist. If you own yourself and realize that you’re original and unique, then no one else can ever be you. No one else is you, and that’s your power. That’s the best advice. You’re in your own lane, babe. If you’re in your own lane, you’re winning.
