Every few business days a new, delicious-sounding trend pops up on TikTok, and matcha latte makeup is one that we're so into right now. As we transition from late fall into winter, dark and sultry makeup is making its seasonal comeback. And that’s great—but we do still love a little color, and matcha latte makeup delivers just that.

The look combines the vibrant, energizing colors of your favorite verdant hot drink. Plus, if you’re more of a neutral Nellie but want to try something new, green eyeshadow is a great way to get comfortable with a colorful eye look. Think of Matcha latte makeup as Cinnamon Girl makeup's edgier sister, or better yet, thelook to try if you wanna shake up your usual routine.

We’ve been craving some color since winter started, so we knew we had to try this lush, green look. Here’s how our Milk team brewed their matcha shots.

1. Extra Shot

GET THE LOOK: Pore Eclipse Mattifying Primer, Lip + Cheek in Perk, Future Fluid All Over Cream Concealer, Hydro Grip Eye Primer, Color Chalk in Green Light, KUSH Mascara

I've been a green eyeshadow truther for years, so I was ready to hop on this trend!

I started with Pore Eclipse Mattifying Primer to help reduce the look of my pores and keep me matte. I finished my base off with Future Fluid Concealer and set it with Pore Eclipse Powder to lock everything in.

Now for the eyes. I used Hydro Grip Eye Primer to make sure that my green shadow was as opaque as possible and went on smoothly. I started with Color Chalk in Green Light to get that perfectly shimmery matcha tone. I then blended a lighter, more neon green into my corners for a highlight. I dipped into some more Green Light to blend everything out into my crease. For an extra dose of “green,” I used KUSH mascara to volumize and thicken my lashes.

2. Minty Matcha

I wanted to keep things on the mintier side of matcha. I started with Pore Eclipse Mattifying Primer to achieve a filtered base and followed with Lip + Cheek in Quirk to add a dash of color to my cheeks. To make sure I got the perfect minty hue, I needed a good base to lay it on, so I applied  Hydro Grip Eye Primer to smooth and hydrate my eyelids. My favorite hack is using eye primer on my under eyes to set the area for smooooth application.

Once my base was locked in, I blended a matte, cool-toned mint green shade all over my lid and lined my under eyes in the same shade. Then, I added a silvery green shimmer to highlight, blending it into my inner corners and under my bottom lash line.

GET THE LOOK: Hydro Grip Primer, Future Fluid Concealer, Matte Bronzer, Sculpt Stick, Highlighter in Lit, Lip + Cheek in Enigma, Pore Eclipse Powder, KUSH Brow Shadow Stick, KUSH Brow Lamination Gel, KUSH Mascara, Odyssey Lip Oil Gloss

The matcha latte makeup trend is IT! I feel like green is the color of the season—it looks so good on basically everyone. For this take, I used some of my Milk faves: Hydro Grip Primer, Future Fluid Concealer in 7NW, Matte Bronzer in Baked, Sculpt Stick in Stoked, Highlighter in Lit, Lip + Cheek in Enigma, Pore Eclipse Powder in Light, KUSH Brow Shadow Stick in Grind with KUSH Brow Lamination Gel on the brows, KUSH Mascara on my lashes, and Odyssey Lip Oil Gloss in Quest (my fave). To set it all for up to 12 hours, I sealed everything in with Hydro Grip Setting Spray. I wanted my eyes to be the focus of the look and still have that healthy-looking skin.

WHO TRIED IT: Destiny Gay, (she/her), Sales & Education Executive, Southwest

GET THE LOOK: Infinity Long Wear Eyeliner in Limitless, Color Chalk in Tag, KUSH Lash Primer, Sculpt Stick, Future Fluid Concealer, Matte Bronzer, Odyssey Lip Oil Gloss in Quest

I created this glittery matcha latte look using Infinity Long Wear Eyeliner in Limitless smoked out into a wing, along with Color Chalk in Tag to highlight the inner corner. I used KUSH Lash Primer as a white mascara on my bottom lashes to keep the look softer and highlight the green colors. On my cheeks, I applied Sculpt Stick in Toasted, then used Future Fluid in 2C to brighten my under eyes. I lined my lips with Infinity in Limitless, blending it  with some Baked Bronzer, then topping it off with Odyssey Lip Oil Gloss in Quest.

5. Vanilla Brown Sugar Matcha

WHO TRIED IT: Chaz Acevedo, (she/her), Market Trainer, NYC

GET THE LOOK: Pore Eclipse Mattifying Primer, Sunshine Under Eye Tint + Brighten, Pore Eclipse Powder, Infinity Long Wear Eyeliner in Limitless, Odyssey Lip Oil Gloss in Quest, Pore Eclipse Matte Setting Spray

This look was inspired by my go-to order: a vanilla matcha latte with brown sugar and whipped cream. I started by prepping my skin with Pore Eclipse Mattifying Primer to achieve a matte finish. I went in with my Sunshine Under Eye Tint in #3 for minimum coverage and to hide any redness or dark circles.

To keep my base secure and bake my under eyes, I used Pore Eclipse Powder in translucent light. I love the bright, filtered finish it gives my under eyes. I then picked up Infinity in Limitless to line my lips and fill my brows. I made sure to add a touch of Odyssey in Quest so my lips looked polished. To finish, I went in with Pore Eclipse Matte Setting Spray, locking everything in place.

6. Toasted Matcha Latte

WHO TRIED IT: Alexis Jackson (she/her), Market Trainer, San Diego

GET THE LOOK: Hydro Grip Eye Primer, Hydro Grip Primer, Matte Bronzer in Baked, Hydro Grip Set + Refresh, Color Chalk in Double Dutch, Highlighter in Lit and Turnt, KUSH Brow Lamination Gel, KUSH Mascara, Future Fluid Concealer, Pore Eclipse Powder, Lip + Cheek in Enigma, Odyssey Lip Oil Gloss in Quest

I wanted to keep my base simple and neutral with hints of warm brown to so the focus would be on the green shadow. To start, I prepped my skin with Vegan Milk Moisturizer to create a hydrated and natural base. I then primed my eyelids and under eyes using Hydro Grip Eye Primer. Next, I applied Hydro Grip Primer on the rest of my face to be sure my look stayed on for the long haul.

As my primer dried down, I worked on my eyes. I buffed Matte Bronzer in Baked into my crease for that touch of warm brown. I spritzed my eyeshadow brush with Hydro Grip Set + Refresh to make sure I got the maximum, richest pigment, then used Color Chalk in Double Dutch for my wing. I mixed Highlighters Lit & Turnt in my inner corners. To finish the eyes, I used KUSH Mascara on my lower lashes and KUSH Brow Lamination Gel to fluff my brows up.

For my base, I applied foundation and spot concealed using Future Fluid in 13W. Future Fluid in 9N brightened my under eyes, which I set with Pore Eclipse Powder in Light Translucent to achieve a filtered finish. I bronzed using Matte Bronzer in Baked and swiped Lip + Cheek in Enigma on my lips and cheeks, blending it up into my temples. The look was completed with some swipes of Odyssey Lip Oil Gloss in Quest.

7. Baby shot

Hydro Grip Primer, Sunshine Under Eye Tint + Brighten in 5, KUSH Brow Lamination Gel, Bionic Blush in Infinity, Electric Glossy Lip Plumper in Charged, Hydro Grip Set + Refresh Spray.

Just a little touch of those matcha vibes gave my eyes a lot of impact. I started with Hydro Grip Primer to make sure my look stayed on all day long. After using a skin tint to even out my complexion, I added a little Sunshine Under Eye to brighten up any dark circles. I always set this with a powder so it doesn’t budge all day.

For my eyes, I used a kelly green eyeliner that I focused on my inner corners, then dragged out to the inner third of my upper and lower lash lines. It wasn’t enough green though‚ so I added a shimmery duochrome eyeshadow just in the corners to make it really stand out.

On the rest of my face, I applied Bionic Blush in Infinity to bring color to my cheeks. I then reached for my favorite brown lip liner, lined my lips, then went over with Electric Glossy Lip Plumper in Charged. I sealed in the entire look with a few spritzes of Hydro Grip Set + Refresh Spray.
