At Milk Makeup, we believe it’s not just how you create your look; it’s what you do in it that matters. That’s what our motto Live Your Look is all about. It means forgetting the rules. Having the freedom to show up as you every day, whether that’s with graphic liner or a glossed lip. Being seen and celebrated for living your truth. And there's no better way for us to show what that looks like than passing the mic to our Milk Fam.
In this series, we're opening it up to our community to share their inspirations, self-expression, beauty routines, and so much more. Get to know the faces behind our campaigns who are as inspiring off camera as they are on. This week, we speak to Eka Eyoh, who starred in our RISE Mascara campaign. Find out a little bit more about the model, avid thrifter, and NYC park enthusiast.
Eka is a Sagittarius sun, and when we speak to her, it’s clear she embodies that fiery energy—she shares with us that she’s actually kinda drawn to the heat of an open flame, even. She’s an overall passionate person, not just in her hobbies (running and plant-based cooking), but in supporting, educating, and building her community. Case in point: she worked with a non-profit organization that curated cooking events to promote mental health and wellness.
We couldn’t let her leave set without asking a few more questions about her beauty vibe, personal style, and of course, her fave Milk makeup products.
How would you describe your personal style?
I would say it can be very grungy and edgy, I like to wear black. People think that I am moody, but there’s something about black that is very powerful. I like to wear leather pieces, like trench coats, jackets, and skirts. I do also love color, but mostly neons—it’s either black or neon.
What’s your makeup routine like?
It's either really clean or simple: foundation and mascara if I’m running errands. If I’m going out, I love to incorporate colorful eye shadows. I love metallic purples and oranges, as well as bright, neon eyeliners. I like white liner, too.
If you could only use one Milk product for the rest of your life, which would it be?Is it fair to say RISE Mascara? It was just used on me, and was I just like, ‘wow,’ I love it. It isn’t too dramatic but still make my eyes pop. It was easy to apply, and didn’t go on too chunky. I like the applicator and the packaging, too—the texture on the tube is very futuristic-looking to me. What album are you listening to on repeat right now?Doja Cat’s Planet Her album. I also love going back to Rihanna's old albums. Anti is my fave and the one I listen to the most. It just embodies bold, good energy. Whenever I want a pick-me-up, I listen to that one. Is there a TV show you can never watch too much of?I love shows, like Married at First Sight or Love is Blind. It’s cringey, but I can’t stop watching! I need to know if the couples stay together, if they break up, who cheats on who—I like the dramatics. If you could only bring one thing product with you to a desert island which would it be and why?Probably sunscreen! After doing some research, I realized how necessary it is to protect your skin. I need to do a better job at using it more often. |
What does your ideal day look like?
I’d wake up, have an iced matcha, get breakfast, then go to the park. I’d meet up with friends, go shopping, then do a little sightseeing. We’d end the night with drinks and dancing.
Sounds fun—where is your favorite place to shop?
I love thrifting through Brooklyn. I like Beacon's Closet and Aldridge Vintage.
You said you liked going to the park. Which is your favorite?
I live in Sunset Park in Brooklyn. There’s an actual park of the same name by my apartment that overlooks the entire city. I can see the Statue of Liberty from there. And then there’s Domino Park in Williamsburg. It’s by the water, super nice. I like Central Park, of course, as well as Fort Greene Park.
Such beautiful views! Before we go, is there anything else you would like to add?
Milk has been on my list of brands I want to model for. I’ve always appreciated how Milk embraces self-expression in a way that I don’t see very often. Working with you is very exciting!
