Charli XCX has given us a lot to process this summer—a new album, a jaw-dropping Lorde collab, and an obsession with lime green. If you’re truly tuned into all things Brat, then you can also add Charli’s edgy take on summer makeup to that list. She’s consistently been pairing sharp, bold brows with fresh, flushed skin and graphic black liner, and we can’t get enough of the club siren vibes.

For a recent show in Brazil, Charli’s makeup artist, Nick Lennon, used a lineup of Milk Makeup products to create the ultimate Brat summer makeup look for Charli. “Charli loves a clean, natural skin moment always, so we kept the liner the focal point,” Nick tells Milk Paper.

Shop Hydro Grip Primer
Shop Future Fluid

To achieve just that, Nick prepped Charli’s skin with Hydro Grip Primer. Not only does this multi-award-winning formula secure makeup for up to 12 hours, but it also gives skin the dewiest hydrated glow.

Next, Nick underpainted Charli’s base to ensure her complexion looked as au naturel as possible. For those unfamiliar with this makeup artist technique, blush, contour, and highlighter are applied before foundation and concealer for a more seamless, lit-from-within vibe.

First, Nick enhanced the natural radiance of Charli’s skin by tapping Bionic Glow in Virtual onto the high points of her face. The liquid illuminator is packed with hydration via snow and reishi mushrooms, which also give skin extra bounciness. Next, the viral Cooling Water Jelly Tint in Splash was dabbed onto the singer’s cheeks for a juicy berry flush that won’t budge. Then, Nick softly contoured Charli’s face with Sculpt Stick in Toasted and Stoked before adding Future Fluid All Over Cream Concealer in 10W and 9N where needed. Finally, he set everything with a light dusting of Pore Eclipse Matte Translucent Setting Powder in Translucent Light with our Pore Eclipse Setting Powder Brush.

Shop KUSH High Roll Tubing Mascara

Next up: Charli’s “graphic and bratty” eye makeup, as Nick calls it. To amp up the volume and definition of her natural brows, Nick brushed through them with our new KUSH High Roll Brow Tint in Grind—keeping Charli’s brows water-resistant for up to 24 hours of partying. Then, he primed Charli’s lids with Hydro Grip Eye Primer to create a smooth surface for Infinity Long Wear Eyeliner in Outer Space. He applied the smudge-proof pencil along Charli’s upper and lower lash lines and drew ultra-sharp wings. For a more lived-in vibe, you can easily smoke out the edges of these lines with the built-in smudger on the other end of the pencil. The finishing touch on Charli’s eye makeup was KUSH High Roll Tubing Mascara, which gave her lashes a stunning separated, fanned-out look that stayed locked all night.

For a lip combo that let Charli’s graphic liner shine, Nick swiped on Lip + Cheek in Werk and gave it a shiny top coat with KUSH Lip Oil in Cookie Dough. To complete the look, Nick locked everything in by misting Charli’s face with Hydro Grip Set + Refresh Spray

Now, these lyrics from “360” hit even harder, “When you're in the mirror, do you like what you see? When you're in the mirror, you're just looking at me.”
