What is a blush and lip stain, and what does it do?
The best lip stain and blush should create a sheer, long-wearing pop of color on lips and cheeks alike. Think blush with a watercolor effect that stays put throughout the day and no-smudge lips with a popsicle-like tint that locks in for hours. The best lip and cheek stain should also be easy to apply and blend without seeping into or accentuating lip lines.
What is Cooling Water Jelly Tint?
Cooling Water Jelly Tint goes above and beyond the requirements of both cheek and lip products. This long-lasting blush and lip stain gives lips and cheeks a sheer, buildable tint in seven bright shades with a natural—not matte—finish. Its long-wear staying power means no touch-ups needed throughout the day. Bonus: It has an innovative bouncy jelly texture that looks and feels good enough to eat (but please don’t). You’ll love how the unique texture allows the stick to glide seamlessly atop bare skin and base makeup.
The weightless water-based blush and lip color is infused with skincare ingredients like vitamin-rich vegan collagen to leave skin feeling as bouncy as the stick. It’s also made with seawater and aloe to soothe, hydrate, and refresh your face with just a swipe. Best of all, Cooling Water Jelly Tint is non-comedogenic and suitable for all skin types.
How is Cooling Water Jelly Tint different from other lip stains and blush stains?Unlike most blush and lip stains, Cooling Water Jelly Tint hydrates and helps skin look firmer. You can even store Cooling Water Jelly Tint in the fridge to boost its unique skin-soothing benefits, says Milk Makeup Director of Artistry Sara Wren. “Anytime you use something cold on your skin, it helps constrict blood vessels and reduce swelling,” she adds. Cooling Water Jelly Tint can be used directly from its tube. Just swirl or swipe the stick onto your lips and cheeks to get that juicy color payoff. You won’t have to worry about disrupting the foundation and concealer underneath it, a common problem we’ve noticed with other lip and cheek stains. Cooling Water Jelly Tint seamlessly layers atop other makeup products without dragging, whether they’re cream, liquid, or powder. What is a pH Jelly Tint? Our new pH Jelly Tint stands out for the custom color it gives cheeks and lips. This latest iteration of our viral jelly-textured beauty products features an innovative formula that reacts to your skin’s natural pH to reveal a unique pink shade. Like the rest of our Jelly Tint collection, this pH-reactive stick has a clean, vegan, cruelty-free formula enhanced with skin-loving ingredients that stays put for hours. How does pH Jelly Tint work? Our new Jelly Tint is made with pH-activated bubbles. Once they come into contact with your skin, they burst and within two minutes, transform from sheer to your shade of bright, bold pink—science is pretty cool, huh? How long does this blush and lip stain last?No matter which shade you pick up, Cooling Water Jelly Tint leaves a wash of color that lasts for hours on lips and cheeks. It’s not shiny like a lip gloss or drying like a liquid lipstick; instead, it leaves a hydrated finish. Plus, each portable stick packs 1,000+ swipes. Can I use lip stain on my cheeks? Not all lip tints are formulated for use on your cheeks. They can be drying and uncomfortable to wear anywhere other than your lips. Cooling Water Jelly Tint, however, was made to work for both. |

How do I use Cooling Water Jelly Tint?1. Work One Cheek at a TimeWorking in sections is best when using this stain stick. The formula dries down quickly and has a fast blend time, so apply it one cheek at a time and blend immediately. You can use it as a cheek tint after foundation and concealer or even before for a more natural-looking, underpainted flush. Not sure where to put your blush stain? Get inspired with our blush placement guide. 2. Blend Out QuicklyTap the color into your cheek with a brush, sponge, or clean fingertips to blend seamlessly. For a more intense effect, swipe on another coat of color. 3. Swipe onto LipsUse this hydrating lip stain straight from the tube. Swipe it all over for a solid-yet-sheer layer of color. To get that perfect, just-ate-a-popsicle lip stain, dab it directly onto the center of your lips and blend outward to the edges with a fingertip. For extra credit, turn Jelly Tint into a glossy lip stain by adding a few swipes of a hydrating gloss like our Odyssey Lip Oil Gloss or KUSH Lip Oil in whichever color you’re feeling. These moisturizing formulations will help you beat any dryness. You can even use it with a lip liner for a more defined look. 4. Snap the CapBecause Cooling Water Jelly Tint is water-based, closing the stick correctly after each use is essential to prevent the gel formula from drying out. Place the cap back onto the stick, and press down on it until you hear a click. |

How do I apply pH Jelly Tint?
Since our Cooling Water pH Jelly Tint works a bit differently from the rest of our shades, there are a few things to keep in mind in terms of application. Mimi Sanchez, Milk Makeup’s Northeast Regional Sales & Education Manager, recommends swiping once over top with a brush when applying to your cheeks. For lip color, apply directly to your lips. Allow the pH-based formula to fully develop into your custom bold pink within two minutes before adding more, using a light hand as you go.
Another way Sanchez likes to use pH Jelly Tint is in her underpainting makeup routine. “After prepping my skin with Hydro Grip Primer, I apply my Matte Bronzer and Sculpt Stick to bring dimension and warmth,” she says. “Then I use my Blending Brush to swipe pH once and apply to the tops of my cheeks.” Once she reaches her desired intensity, she applies Hydro Grip Gel Tint and sets the whole look in place with Pore Eclipse Setting Powder. The final step: Lock it in with Hydro Grip Set + Refresh Spray.
How do I remove Cooling Water Jelly Tint?
The best way to remove your lip and cheek stain is with an oil-based makeup remover, which will lift the color off your skin. Follow with a reusable cotton pad soaked in micellar water, like Hydro Ungrip Cleansing Water, to ensure every speck of long-wearing pigment is removed.
